Wendell Dallas was named vice president of Operations for Atlanta Gas Light and Chattanooga Gas in December 2011. He is responsible for day-to-day operations which include safety, compliance, operational excellence and the financial performance of these utilities as they meet the energy needs of more than 1.6 million customers. Atlanta Gas Light and Chattanooga Gas are subsidiaries of AGL Resources (NYSE:GAS), the largest natural gas-only distribution company in the United States based on customer count.

Mr. Dallas has more than 20 years of operations, management and engineering experience in the natural gas industry. Previously, he served as vice president, Economic and Community Development and was responsible for the company's economic and community development efforts throughout its eight-state footprint, providing strategic leadership for customer economic development projects.

Prior to that, Mr. Dallas served as vice president and general manager of Atlanta Gas Light where he was responsible for operations and market development of the company. He joined Atlanta Gas Light in 2000 as a service area manager in Macon and shortly thereafter served as region manager for Southeast Georgia in Savannah.

Mr. Dallas came to Atlanta Gas Light from El Paso Energy's Macon office, where he was an operations supervisor. In that role he was responsible for the operations of the natural gas transmission pipeline facilities in central Georgia.

Mr. Dallas also serves on a number of non-profit, community and industry boards. He is a gubernatorial appointee to the State of Georgia's Workforce Investment Board, where he serves as vice chairman. He is chairman of the board for Gwinnett Technical College and chairs the Business & Industry Development Committee at the Georgia Chamber of Commerce.

He serves on the boards of the Atlanta Neighborhood Development Partnership, Communities in Schools of Georgia, Auburn University's Engineering Alumni Council and the executive council for the Center for Energy Workforce Development.

Mr. Dallas is a graduate of Leadership Georgia, Leadership Atlanta and Leadership Savannah.

Mr. Dallas, a native of Opelika, Ala., earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Auburn University. He, his wife and their three children reside in Gwinnett County, Georgia.
