Senior Vice President, Risk Control
Sequent Energy Management
Darilyn Jones, senior vice president, Risk Control, joined Sequent Energy Management in August 2003. She is responsible for management and oversight of Sequent’s mid-office functions including credit, contract administration, energy and risk compliance, market risk control and operational risk control.
Prior to joining Sequent, Mrs. Jones was a senior manager with Accenture’s Global Energy Strategy Consulting Practice. She served as a subject matter expert in North America Energy Trading and Risk Management practices. Mrs. Jones has held executive positions in risk management at PG&E Energy Trading, Koch Energy Trading and El Paso Energy. Her career in the energy industry also includes accounting, auditing, operations and technology experience with major oil companies including Exxon, Tenneco and Mobil Oil.
Mrs. Jones holds a master’s in business administration and a bachelor’s in accounting from the University of Houston’s C.T. Bauer College of Business.
Mrs. Jones frequently speaks at global energy risk conferences in North America and Europe. She also provides risk management training to the public sector, private companies and non-profit organizations.
Her community service work includes financial counseling and motivational talks with religious and non-profit organizations. Mrs. Jones recently was keynote speaker at the first annual fundraising event for the new breast cancer organization, The I W.A.N.T. Foundation Inc. (www.iwantfoundation.org), based in Dallas, Houston and Kansas City, Kan.
She resides in Houston with her husband, Thomas, and family.
