AGL Resources is endeavoring to have diverse representation in all levels of procurement within our organization. We continue to strengthen our existing community relationships, as well as develop new partnerships to expand our reach. We have partnered with several organizations that provide developmental opportunities and assistance to businesses.
American Association of Blacks in Energy
The American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE) is a national association of energy professionals founded and dedicated to ensure the input of all minorities into the discussions and developments of energy policies regulations, R&D technologies, and environmental issues. The organization serves as a resource for environmental and energy policy makers, an advocate and supporter of minority energy professionals, and a resource for businesses wishing to pursue opportunities in energy-related fields.

Atlanta Business League
The Atlanta Business League fosters the growth, creation and development of successful business enterprises. This organization develops relevant policy initiatives which provide access to increased business opportunities and implements creative and innovative programs which foster economic empowerment.

Georgia State University and the SBDC developed a program to help companies with business plans, provide financial analysis and identify sources of capital.

Georgia Governors Mentor/ Protégé Program (GMPP)
Georgia Governors Mentor/ Protégé Program (GMPP) is the first state program in the nation that encourages partnerships with big companies (mentors) and promising small businesses (protégés). The Program is comprised of three (3) basic components: relationship-building, education and reporting. The two companies work together for a period of 12-18 months. During this time frame goals are set that the two companies work together to achieve. Training and technical workshops are available in areas that the mentoring company may not be able to provide the protégé with.

Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce-GHCC
The Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce promotes and supports the domestic and international economic development of Hispanic businesses, and individuals, it serves as a link between non-Hispanic entities and the Hispanic market. The GHCC provides educational services, internships and scholarships to Hispanics to enhance and or pursue higher education. Programs like these equip Hispanics with the skills necessary to obtain greater opportunities and to enhance their chances for success.

Georgia Minority Supplier Development Council - GMSDC
The Georgia Minority Supplier Development Council, Inc. (GMSDC) fosters and expands mutually beneficial economic opportunities between certified minority business enterprises (MBEs), corporations, and government entities within the state of Georgia. The GMSDC helps build a stronger, more equitable society by supporting and promoting minority business development.

Georgia Tech Minority Business Enterprise Center is a federally funded organization that focuses on increasing the number of minority-owned businesses and strengthening existing ones.
