AGL Resources Announces Governmental and Regulatory Affairs Organizational Changes
Lindsay Thomas retires; Linginfelter, Batson and Kibler assume expanded
responsibilities
ATLANTA, -- Jan. 15 -- AGL Resources (NYSE: ATG)
recently announced several changes in its Governmental and Regulatory Affairs
organizations.
Hank Linginfelter, executive vice president, Utility Operations, has
assumed responsibility for Governmental and Regulatory Affairs. He will
continue to oversee all operations of the company's six utilities.
Bryan Batson, senior vice president, External Affairs, has assumed the
additional duties of governmental affairs and is named senior vice president,
Governmental and Regulatory Affairs and now reports to Linginfelter.
Lindsay Thomas, senior vice president, Governmental Relations and a former
U.S. Congressman, has announced his retirement. Thomas joined AGL Resources in
May 2002. Prior to that, he served for six years as president and chief
executive officer of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. Prior to his work for
the chamber, Thomas represented the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games as
the director of state governmental affairs. Thomas served in the U.S. Congress
from 1982 to 1993 representing Georgia's First Congressional District.
Jim Kibler, vice president, Governmental Affairs, replaces Thomas and will
be responsible for state and federal legislative activities for the company.
Kibler and Scott Carter, vice president, Regulatory Affairs, now report to
Batson. Kevin Madden, executive vice president, External Affairs, announced
his retirement in November.
